looks like the inlet from the intake side comes up top, and the turbo side comes out the back and or side?

Something to notice on the picture that I posted, we did integrate the factory mount for the upper i/c pipe on our kit. This will eliminate the possibility of the i/c pipe ever popping out of the coupling and bashing into/denting the hood. The factory pipe has a tie down bracket on it and we have installed it on ours too.

We left off yesterday with the 3" catback exhaust being added to the car. The car made 227 whp 246 ft lbs of torque.

This morning we finished up our air filter kit and our upper i/c pipe.

Below is the dyno sheet with the 3" catback run against the 3" catback with the air filter kit on it.

We have been doing 3 pulls back to back with each part to make sure they are consistent and then posting the medium of the 3 runs.

The filter alone gained some damn good power, 10 whp and 11 ft lbs of torque.

ALL OF THE TESTING IS BEING DONE WITH THE HOOD CLOSED. I also had all the factory plastic installed around the core support and the factory air inlet to the factory air box installed. The air inlet was cut to fit with the new filter and still allow some cool outside air in.

    Here is the dyno sheet:

Next up, we had already built the upper i/c pipe and put the stock one back on just to test the air filter kit. So I left the car on the dyno and just swapped upper i/c pipes. I was suprised with the results. I truly thought this part would be something to basically add just for looks, I was wrong.

Adding the upper i/c pipe gained 8 whp and 1 ft lb of torque. Gains were from 4,000 rpm all the way to redline. I'm surprised. The stock piece is pretty darn well engineered, not good enough though I guess.

Here is the dyno sheet comparing the 3" catback and air filter to the 3" CB, Airfilter and upper i/c pipe.

Knowing nothing about Evos, are these typical stock numbers for past models as well?

Because everyone knows you have to get a real gauge, and a fuel pump upgrade first.

You have to make provisions to breathe in and out, before you take bigger breaths.

I see a ported intake-and t-body upgrade coming soon I'm willing to bet.

Yes. I remember a post in the past talking about 208-211 whp on the md dyno.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

No, the stock fuel system has been tested and it comes with 650cc injectors and a pump that flows about 15% more than a stock IX pump. Fuel pump and injector upgrade will not be a common thing in the early stages of modding these cars!

26 whp and 21 ft lbs of torque so far with the car. That is the increase over stock. That is a catback, air filter and upper i/c pipe. Nothing else.

The car is responding really well to the mods, looks very encouraging.

The FMIC, downpipe, offroad pipe and boost controller will be next.

The boost right now hits the factory 22 psi and falls off to 12 psi at 7,000 rpm. A manual boost controller is going to add a rediculous amount of power at 7,000 rpm.

The car is already making 10% more power than it came in with. A fuel pump is sure to come soon. Especially if they put a mbc on.
