Will you be running the car this weekend at the sport compact shootout?
I MIGHT make a pass or 2. Im in charge of the car show as well as taking pictures so its going to be pretty hectic for me.Originally Posted by justaneon

This morning after so many inquiries & comments on dual 4" tips.... I was curious of what exactly the dual 4" tips would look like so I grabbed a couple of tips, 2 jack stands and my camera. Since there is not an exhaust on the car currently this was quite easy to do.
This was the outcome.

This morning when Santa in the brown outfit showed up so did these....
We received our FIRST set of actual production IC pipes and intake pipe in from the bender. This is what they look like when they arrive to us, we have to finalize the product with cuts, bead rolls, etc... Trent is in the back working with them now and I hope to be able to have them powder coated and in the car for this weekend event that we're hosting. If not... they will have to be installed bare and then removed for coating later.
We should be seeing more piping arrive this week & next week.
The exhaust is still a little bit behind.

yeah i was keepin busy with work and finals at school and now back into a new semester. on top of that, i was helping start a new hyundai web forum. (stuff happened at the one i used to post on and there were differences of opinion that led to most of us defecting to a new site, www.tuscanituner.com)
those pipes look awesome. will they be flanged on the ends for the connectors?
Here is the finished product IC pipes & intake after they arrived back from the coater.
and on the car
We will be offering the pipes in different powder coating options as well as a brushed or polished finish. White is what I chose just to try something a bit different than what Ive used on other cars. Im happy with the choice.

Well Wednesday the day finally arrived! The finished product intake & intercooler pipes arrived, we did the final procedures needed on our end, sent them to the coater, got them back and Trent & I put the front of the car back together.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to get the car back on the lift to put the exhaust back on.
I was on vacation when David & Trent fabbed the exhaust up so I wasnt here to see the setup actually on the car. The pictures that I received of it at the time simply did not do it justice. Once we got it bolted up I honestly couldnt be happier with the look and sound.
The system is VERY quiet in the car with the windows up or down. There is no drone and at 55-60mph you barely even notice it. Even WOT in the car its not all that loud.
With the event we're hosting this weekend to say the shop is a bit crazy would be an understatement so we will get the car on the dyno the first of next week. While I did have a free minute I went out with my camera and video camera to hold you guys over until then.![]()
I can comment though that I can tell a noticeable gain from what we've done.
and now folks..... the video!

I dig the white JROD! Can't wait for the dyno graphs next week!
Thanks
Genesis Coupe + 4b11T + BR = WIN
the white pipes do set the car off nicely, and is a subtle touch of contrast in the engine bay.
After the initial R&D of parts and we were able to receive some of the finished products (Intake pipe & Intercooler pipes) in we were able to get the car back together last Wednesday for our event here. With hosting our Sport Compact last weekend and everything included in putting on an event we simply just did not have time to get the car on the dyno to see how everything corresponded together once it was buttoned up.
I was also able to run the car Sunday at the track. At the end of the day I decided to make a few passes in the Coupe. Sunday was the first time I had been down the track since I sold my Evo almost a year and a half ago.
I made a 3 passes at the end of the day. Best was 14.95 @ 96mph. Stock tires, nothing removed from inside (even had some crap in the trunk), 100% FULL tank of gas (like maybe a half gallon missing out of it). Other passes were both 15.0 @ 96mph as well.
The drive by wire SUCKS to say the least. No arguing it. Between shifts the car would just lay over like it had a big laggy turbo on it, then power would come back on and it would go. Very irritating.
The car left "good", minimal wheel spin, no hop, consistent 2.1 60 foot times on all 3 passes.
On to TODAY.... we had the chance to get the Coupe back on the dyno first thing this morning.
We added:
Buschur Racing Intake
Buschur Racing Race FMIC
Buschur Racing 3" S.S. Catback Exhaust
Buschur Racing Inline Manual Boost Controller
Buschur Racing Complete Intercooler Piping Kit
Our mini battery kit is also in the car but that does not have anything to do with making power.
Here is the dyno sheet with bone stock compared to now.
With the peak gains showing a gain in HP of 29 and a gain in torque of 28ft lbs. we were also able to see once we printed the graphs by 100rpm number increments that there were increases in the chart of as much as 35whp and 33ft. trq while having a average increase of 27ft trq and 25whp throughout the entire RPM range.
Here is a comparison of stock vs stock w/ BR MBC and now with all of the parts.
With the peak gains showing a gain in HP of 22 and a loss in torque of 3ft lbs. when we printed the graphs by 100rpm number increments as we did with the stock to now comparison we were able to see the real increases in the chart with alot WHP gains as much as 28whp and a gain in torque of 27ft. lbs while having a average increase of 14whp and 15ft trq throughout the entire RPM range.
If you're interested in seeing the graphs printed out by numbers just say and I will be glad to post those as well.
Something else interesting that we found is that under 3500rpm the stock ECU wants to reduce the torque substantially with the addition of the new parts.
We also were limited with the boost to be right at 17psi. It goes INSTANTLY to limp mode EVERY time and throws 2 check engine lights. One for overboost and the other for one of the boost control sensors reading too high. Its funny becuase Sunday I couldnt get it to go over 15.5psi.
The car needs tuned. Bottom line. Once we are able to get into the ECU this thing should REALLY wake up with the new parts. The other day when I was setting the boost on the street I hit a max of 20psi on the gauge and the thing just wanted to get down! As soon as it hit that though the car went to limp mode.
For those who havent seen what we've been up to or what our parts look like here is the exhaust:
Front shot with no front fascia:
Front shot all put together:
I can NOT wait to get into the ECU of this car! Fix the DBW issues and get the car to wake up.
The Coupe is showing alot of promise! We're excited to move forward with the car.
Thanks for reading!

Once we got the car back together from the R&D of some of our parts, put it on the dyno and tried turning up the boost we immediately found the stock BOV to be just one issue that needed to be addressed before furthering the path with the Coupe.
Friday we finished the solution to our BOV problem. I was able to drive the car about 300 miles this weekend. No issues at all. The BOV works great.
We decided on a TiAL 50mm BOV as this is a valve we have ran for years with great success and performance. The TiAL units are a very high quality BOV while also being available in a variety of different colors such as silver, black, blue, red and purple.
Notice anything different about this stock Coupe turbo other than the BOV? More information to come on that.
We are not ready to release this piece yet as we would like to make the base 1 single piece so its going to have to spend some time at the machine shop in order to get a quote to see if the pricing will be feasible to do it that way or if we should build them all as we did this one.
I will keep you up to date as we finalize this piece. It should be long at all.
