Default 2005 Evo SSL - My build

Wanted my own build thread to document it for my self and show off my work.

Purchased it in May of 09 with 57,614 miles on it. Mods at the time of purchase were

    HKS Intake
    HKS BOV
    Forge Boost controller
    Ebay Exhuast manifold
    BR 3" exhaust with HFC
Defi - Boost, EGT and oil pressure
    Apexi Turbo timer
    ACT 2900 and 6 puck
    Power slot rotors
    255 pump
and on off the shelf mail in tune - that ran like dog shit.

Pics of it how I bought it

So what exactly do those beatrush prop shaft bushings do? The stock ones on my dsm are toast and I was trying to think of alternatives.

prevent excessive play in the drive shaft -- aka -- stop if from wobbling all over during launch and hard shifts.

Have you thought about maybe checking out the awd motorsports driveshaft? And other goodies to lighten the car up a bit?

Next mod will almost certainly be an aluminum drive shaft from AWD.

I have also considered engine dampener, or a solid front motor mount.

I just dont want to vibrate my self crazy - so the dampener would be awesome.

I forgot I posted here Anyway, do they work well? Do you have a way to measure their size? I am thinking this is something that DSM guys could use as well. Maybe they are the same size

I have a feeling they are no where near the same size.

As for work - It is really impossible to tell - other then there is no "clunking" or any abnormal noise while launching?

Yes. I could have made it A LOT nicer. If I had a plasma cutter - and it wasnt 3am thursday before the shootout -- when I was leaving friday morning.

I think I may just hack the middle out of it - Or find one locally and trim it up nice. The crash beam doesn't help evos much in a crash.. if you have ever seen one.. it kinda looks like toilet paper in a tornado.
