Default BR's EVOX, 514 whp, 93 octane....pictures, information and video inside!!

    HELL YES!!!

That's what I have to say, HELL YES!!!

We just put our EVOX on the dyno for the first time with the new engine/head and turbo kit. It's freaking AWESOME.

The build to refresh includes this:

    BR Stage 3, 2 liter
    BR Stage 3 cylinder head
    BR double pumper fuel system
    ID 1000 cc injectors
    BR 3" cross flow catback
    BR 3" offroad pipe
    BR 2.5" upper i/c pipe
    BR 2.5" lower i/c pipe
    BR Race FMIC
    BR lightweight battery kit
    Cosworth MX1 cams
    Stock EVOX BOV
    BR T3 turbo kit
-Includes BR 3" MAF inlet pipe, Tial 44 mm wastegate, BR header, BR 3" downpipe and Blouch GT600R turbo
Exedy triple disc HD cerametalic clutch
    Stock ECU
    93 octane fuel
    4.28 final drive in transmission

My one goal was to build a turbo kit that had the best spool up we could get and I think we got there. The car really, truly surprised me. After all these years I don't get excited too often!

I started out with the tune from the old set up, stock engine/stock head/Blouch Dominator 2.0 turbo and the same cams with a single stock pump. I pulled just a bit of timing and figured the car would be close on AFR's based on our double pumper now being in the car.

Well my guess was pretty good. The first pull had a peak boost of 23.8 psi and made 443 whp and 335 ft lbs, this was a 3rd gear pull! Outstanding!

I made another pull in 3rd gear at the same boost level, got the AFR's flattened out and then turned up the boost.

The next pull, which was only the 3rd pull I turned up the boost to what I expected to be about 30 psi and the boost hit 29.6 psi, the power rose to 514 whp and 385 ft lbs of torque!!

The goal of 500 whp on 93 octane was met with just 3 pulls on a brand new engine/head and our turbo kit.

Here is what impresses me even more. This is a single scroll T3 turbo kit with a 62mm billet compressor wheel on a GT35r turbine wheel and it's in a .82 turbine housing and still was able to make 20 psi at 4459 rpm!!! That is freaking fantastic spool up!!

Here are some pictures of our new turbo kit on the car:

Here is the dyno sheet comparing 23.8 psi to 29.6 psi:

It's definitely looking like a solid setup to go with on the Evo X!

If I didn't already have so much invested with the GT30 setup I would definitely consider it as this car is going to be a track monster while still being a kick ass machine on the streets. I can see power increase starting at 4400 with the higher boost which is probably only 600 RPM's worse than where my setup sees increased power from higher boost. With MIVEC tweaks I'm betting that you could hit 20 psi in 4th as soon as 4100 RPM's or really close to that which is quite remarkable.

    Thanks guys.

Man I'm surprised how much everyone likes these videos.

Jeff we'll do a video on your car too.

I have to say this and I am being honest here. I'm am on and off about how I feel about the EVOX, pretty clear because I get really hyped up on it and then go cold on the car again and it sits. The car, right now, is just freaking awesome. I drove it home last night and hit it a few times, it's fast. My son was with me and when I punched it he was attempting to grap the dash, that's his way of judging how hard it pulls. He was having a tough time

The car runs beautifully. It is silky smooth, a bit loud now, idle is flawless, drivability is also fantastic. This car does not need a stand alone. It's very impressive.

You were a bit shocked how my customers 6262 is coming into boost, unbelievable was the word you used I think. And that wasn't me hating on the header.

Thats fine just dont get salt on it from your awsome roads

Thats great Dave, these vids are a great idea for all customers, and customer to come! Big Al does it all the time, and everyone loves it.

Also I wanna add, I like how you didnt go sleeving the block like those ass pirates in illnois did. You kept it real and hardcore. Though I dont own a X, its what the people want.

Now you just need to get an MR or ralliart with transmission upgrades in there to test out the durability of the transmission upgrades

Are you going for this turbo upgrade or something else? I didn't notice your signature before this, and I can't wait to see how well the new transmission components stand up to the abuse of Buschur Power!!!!

    Thanks,

The turbo kit is off the car, everything is being copied now for production. Trent built the fixture for the header today and hopefully we'll have a few headers built before the downpipe, dumptube and MAF pipes come in from being bent. I'm hopefull that in 2 weeks we are shipping kits.

legendary, roads were too bad today to try your car again. I don't want to be out messing around with it and have a wreck.
