In response to another thread on EVOm is our video we slapped together this morning.
I think at times the level of ignorance is beyond belief, I've been in this business too long and my level of patience has never been very good.
In this thead on EVOM some douche has put together a comparison thread of our very first battery trays and our current battery tray to compare to nisei's billet unit. As with most douche bags, he doesn't even produce the part, just sells them out of his mom's bedroom. He has no clue to the history and I'm guessing never even bolted a kit in an EVO. I'm not even sure he has seen an actual EVO outside of Xbox.
A few points. First off, Buschur Racing was the company who came up with the small battery idea for the EVO's to fit intercooler plumbing in without 30 bends in it and to take weight off. We were told nobody would buy these kits but obviously that was incorrect because everyone has copied the idea at this point in time. The first tray I built was overly simple, a basic tray with long bolts and wing nuts to hold the battery. It fit, it held the battery and it made room. It wasn't the highest tech component or the prettiest but it served it's purpose. Not very long after that part was made I realized how over simple it was and built our new kit. We reversed the mounting points (which our competitors haven't been smart enought to copy yet) built the new ones to hold the battery even more securely and designed it so the CDI boxes could be mounted to it or catch cans etc. Changing the kit to its current configuration also allowed the batteriers to be turned around and the negative cable to be routed behind the battery. This makes the entire kit and factory wiring harness fit better. The copy cats out there still have you stretching the positive cable very tight across the battery to the front post.
In the pictures this douche bag posted he shows mis-alignment, holes that are "too large" and how the tray doesn't fit flat on his desk. Let me address these. First off, nothign is mis-aligned, you will see that in the video, the kit falls together it's so well aligned. The extra room in the bolt holes and slot for the top strap are designed so it goes together easy. The tray not sitting flat on his desk...........well if you want to mount this kit to your desk let me know and I'll address it. When you mount it in the car though that bolt head doesn't touch anything, showing further he is a fucking idiot.
Here is the little video we put together.
