Default 6bolt being choked #'s inside

so guys iam going to get straight to the point, is a 2G Throttle Body enough to stop my car from getting into 600 plus hp range?

Here is what I have 6 bolt, SBR Stg V Head, HKs272/272 cams ( switching to Kelford 280's right now), Magnus Intake Mani, Ross/Eagle 8:5.1, PTE6262 .82 A/R T3 Mani

Ok so at 28-29psi i made 560 AWHP 437 Trq

So at this point my tuner says I ran out of fuel and also claims the car doesnt do as well as other DSM's he has
seen, so a mechanic pointed out I had a 2G Throttle Body is this enough to keep me out of the 600awhp range and also limit my top end power at this or any psi? also is a 1G throttle body good enough to handle the power iam seeking? (650AWHP) thanks

The 2g is small, probably won't keep you from making 600 though. Those 272's cams are small.

That turbo is just starting to breathe, turn the boost up... 32-35psi on e85 should get you 600hp.

hmmm so the cam would definately be the choking point? iam doing Kelfords at the moment so hope to see some good gains after these!

I made 720whp on a regular GT35r on HKS 272 cams. Of course the setup made "magical" numbers but I never saw power fall off. This is with a 1g NT untouched throttle body. I was going to change cams and see if it would have broke 750whp but the engine shit itself and I parted the car out.

600whp on Sunoco 94 Pump Gas
720whp on VP Q16 Race Gas

Proof that old school shit still works.

No prob!! If you want the best TB get a 1G then take it to BR or FFWD and get it pounched out to 63mm.

What kind of dyno was it? How good is your FMIC? Are you able to log your IATs to know how well it is working? There are huge gains to be had in the cooling department at that power level if the numbers aren't up to snuff.

I've made a hair over 900awhp on a Dynojet with a 2.0 and stock 1G TB and 2.5" IC piping. Not saying you shouldnt upgrade to a nice ported TB, but it is doable!

it was on a low reading dynojet (comparing other shops dynojets)
Intercooler is a SBR Streetcore but SBR claims it should handle over 600awhp especially because I am using E85.
The tuner uses a wideband I dont touch the tune at all. I agree about the power gain in the cooling department i will look into that as well and let u know.

But if you could log IAT's. Intake Air Temps, you could see that your fmic prolly sucks.... How thick is the core?

I dont see how that 7" tall core can be rated at 600hp.. Def, not meant for what your tryin to do.....

    https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...d3646253f287ba

The Buschur core is a full Inch thicker, and almost double the height.... Even the less expensive Garrett core they offer will hands down be more effecient, than what you have... Id hate to say it, but you have a BEginner FMIC, whereas you need an advanced type...lol

Your FMIC will be fine especially if your going E85 or meth. Maybe later if needed go a little bigger or thicker wont hurt but if you go to big its just going to be hiden by your bumper and worthless.
