Do you have a wideband? If you do I would seriously consider logging it through the EGR Temp pin on the ecu. The AEM widebands need a "circuit buffer" to do so properly due to the relatively weak signal the gauge outputs and the resistance on the EGR Temp circuit. That way when you do a log, you can see exactly where your a/f's are.

You will have to "lock" your AIT through link if you do it that way. What airflow meter are you using? gm maf, stock maf, 2g, 3g/evo?

Ok then, it wont matter if you lock it or not because the GM Maf does not have AIT provisions built in like the mitsu maf's do. I am personally leaving that open in the hopes of a move to Speed Density sometime in the future though to prevent potential wiring headaches.

gm mafs do use air temp as a factor of figuring air mass. it is calculated and compensated for in the airflow signal. they do not have barometric pressure however, that is why gms with mafs also used a map sensor.
wanting to switch to sd? ditch the link and mosy on over to www.ds-map.net some things are still in development, but its a quick power gain just switching.
