You'll go through it pretty quick...down....but its very cheap...up............you may have sudden craving for popcorn...up....but you'll gain weight so power to weight ratio will go down...down.......but nothing a healthy shit won't solve...up.....

First, why didnt you ask Emery since he convinced you to switch? Now that the asshole part of me is gone. E85 will give you more power, its cheaper. Bads, u will prolly need a double pumper and big injectors if you dont have them already(im not to familiar with your build from STM) and you also burn through it fast also limited availibility depending on where you are.

Im like you, I have a 93 map and an E85 map. I bought an E85 tester http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/s...test-tube.html to make sure that the stuff youre putting in your car is actually E85 and not like E70 or some other mixture especially if you use a few different stations to fill up, and the mixture does change seasonally too.

Also, make sure that when you go from 93 and put E85 in your car, be sure to drain the fuel using the drain plugs on the bottom of the tank under the car. You really really want to be sure you have basically all of the 93 out of the fuel system before goin nuts with your E85 map.

Also, from what Ive read, E85 will loosen up any deposits in your fuel tank left behind by gasoline over the years, so be sure to check your fuel filter after a few months just to make sure its clear of anything. Will that definitely happen? Not necessarily, but its not a bad idea to be on top of it in case it is.

That's a great little tester I just grabbed one. I switched to e85 a month ago and love it.

No problem! And ya the tester is very simple and it works too, its oddly fascinating to watch the gasoline separate from the ethanol lol.

I don't run a dual map pump 93/ E-85 due to the following reasons:

    -lack of availability
-switching from pump to E85 takes discipline to ensure all the 93 is out and you can turn up the boost.
-lack of availablity at the pump....
-variances in winter blend / summer blends
    -lack of availability....

Once it becomes more available, I want to do a fresh build and run strictly E85. Until then, 93.

Thats what I do! I thought it was the dumbest idea ever for a while, then I realized it was worth it.

$100 bucks average but depending on the setup may cost a lil more

IM sorry to hear you went to E85 instead of Meth Injection. with meth you cool the intake air, the start up cost is cheaper (no injectors or pump upgrade) and you dont have to worry about finding a gas station every day.
since you did the e85 route I would recomend an upgraded intercooler if you dont have one already.

weve been over this discussion many tines before on this site and the reason he chose not to run it is because he wants reliability and not worrying about grenading his motor because of pump/failsafe oruneven dispersion of meth across the cylinders

oh to answer the OP question "what are the Ups and Downs to E85"
downs- NOT reliable starts in the winter, separation issues if leaving the fuel in the tank to long, NOT reliable detergents from Stations causing black sludge on your injectors. having to stay off boost until the fuel tank is dry because you had to add 93 fuel because you couldn't find an E85 station.
E85 does not cool the incoming Air, so you have to upgrade intercoolers if living in high temperature states.
THE BIGGEST DOWN- in the coming years E85 stations will decline as (electric and hydrogen increase)because its a total failure for alternative energy for cars.

the ups- since you had to upgrade your injectors, fuel pump, intercooler. Your ready to slap on that bigger turbo when the time comes when you cant use e85 anymore.
