    Default Is it crankwalk?

Well my car has been grinding gear sometimes especially first, not very often though mostly when colder. My rpms are not so good meaning they are usually too low and lately higher than normal. my ISC I thing is fine i checked it also tries to die sometimes when I shift. and today bam! it stopped going into gear its like i got no clutch. after pumping the clutch like 5 times it got fine than bad again and good for a while than same thing again, and finally no thats it, no more only grinding.
when i drove home i drove on second gear all the way the clutch was fine works perfect when in gear, but if i put it in neutral i am done no more 1,2,3,4,5 5or R. i tried turning off the car i put it in first press the clutch and start and it jumps forward (like no clutch)
    its a 2g 97gst

Sounds like you have a spring that have come out of your clutch.

Sounds like the clutch slave cylinder to me. Symptom are the same as when the slave went out on my old Lance OZ

yeah, i agree with slave cylinder. my talon did that to me last winter. check the reservoir for lost fluid, check lines up to the slave cylinder. My problem was that the hardline that goes into the slave actually came loose and all the fluid came out, just had to rebleed the clutch.

well I took it to a mechanic when the car was cold it had no problems at all. I drove 3-4 miles to a mechanic with no problems at all. he called me today and said that he did a test drive and the car wouldn't shift just like I explained to him. he than told me its not the slave cylinder and he tells me I need a new clutch? what is your opinion?

My car did the same thing when it threw a spring out of the clutch. I would drive fine for a while until the spring gets hung up between the clutch and pressure plate.

yes that was the problem the car had ACT clutch kit and one of the springs (teeth) on the pressure plate was broken and I guess it got stuck between the plate and the clutch.
I installed exedy oem replacement clutch and boy this thing shifts so nice and smooth now. No wheel hop when I take off its perfect
